Ontario Autism Program: Maddie Di Muccio drops a bombshell

In several media interviews, I’ve been asked the question “who came up with this awful new autism program?” To this day, I still don’t know.

Many in the autism community believe the lead author/designer was a guy by the name of Bill Hogg, who has held the roles of Director of Implementation, Minister Lisa MacLeod and Deputy Chief of Staff (Policy, Communications, Implementation), Minister Lisa MacLeod under this government. The belief that Hogg is the architect led to some in the community tweeting out the hashtag #FireBillHogg last night, causing it to trend.

But who is this Bill Hogg guy, anyway, and what does he have to do with autism? In a Twitter thread, Maddie Di Muccio gave a full reporting. I can’t vouch for the accuracy or veracity of any of these claims, but they certainly are eye-opening:
